Postage


If you're new here, and find the postage costs a bit off-putting, let's do a few sums... what does it take you to get to the shops... petrol... parking... a bus ticket? Not to mention your precious time!

We charge the actual postage rates for the items, which we hope is fair. That way, if you are only buying one packet of tea the P&P isn't £3.99 (or more). If you want to order a lot of heavy items (or just do a rather large shop) you can get up to 20kg delivered for only £8.99. On each product page there is a guide for how much it will cost to post each item, and the more you order the cheaper it gets per item! At checkout your basket is weighed and then you have the option to choose a postal service and rate that suits you.

We are working hard on trying to find a way to post chilled and frozen items, but it is a more complicated process than we had hoped......

It only gets better (We hope!)

If you've noticed us being a bit quiet lately it's partly because we're working hard on a whole raft of new features for the site. For a start we've taken all of the fabulous feedback we've been given over the past 18 months on board, and as a result we're improving some important areas like our (sometimes rather wonky) product categories, which will then in turn allow us to make the site much easier to navigate.

There's still some way to go at the moment, but we expect to have some big improvements in place, watch this space!

We have an opportunity to open a shop in Cheltenham and are seriously tempted. While thinking around it all we were wondering what we could do to tempt you to visit us. Lastly, we'd like to ask everyone who uses and appreciates our service to help us share it with more people. We're a bit cynical of offering a financial incentive for referrals as the simple truth is it has to come from somewhere, which means extra pennies on our prices, so if you like what we do then please tell your friends about us! Better still, if you are active on a social networking site, maintain your own blog or are otherwise in a position to offer us any publicity then we would REALLY appreciate any mentions you might be able to give us - and we'd also be very happy to return the favour!

Also, if you pay by Google Checkout then please consider leaving a review with them - many of our competitors have suspiciously large numbers of Carbon Copy reviews which makes it hard for us to stand out... Good (we hope!) or bad, let the world know what you think of us!!

It's still a difficult economic climate out there, so on the featured pages we are going to put items that we consider to be jolly good value for money as well as helping out the old environment. We hope you agree!
